Preservation Of Old Buildings
LLANFYLLIN DOLYDD PRESERVATION TRUST (October 2017) Preservation for the benefit of local people and of the nation of the historic Workhouse at Llanfyllin with the building being used for cultural, leisure and community activities and making people aware of its significance.
NEWTOWN TEXTILE MUSEUM (November 2017) To preserve the historic building. To refresh and represent the content in a more interesting way and to welcome as many visitors as possible. The grant was made via the Montgomeryshire County Recreation Association.
Helping Young People
CHILDREN WITH CYSTIC FIBROSIS DREAM HOLIDAYS (October 2017) To arrange much needed respite breaks for families in Wales who have a child with the life threatening illness Cystic Fibrosis.
TALL SHIPS YOUTH TRUST (May 2017) Development of young people aged 12-18 years in Wales through crewing of ocean-going sail-training vessels.
REED’S SCHOOL, SURREY (October 2017) For over 200 years the Reed’s Foundation has been working with disadvantaged children to help inspire confidence and realise true potential through excellent educational provision and pastoral support. The Bodfach Trust is a regular supporter.
Care for the Elderly
LLANFYLLIN LUNCH CLUB FOR THE ELDERLY (September 2017) The Club provides a monthly lunch for senior citizens in Llanfyllin in the Cain Valley Hotel and the Town Council pays for a free Christmas Lunch which the Bodfach Trust supported.
Green Spaces And Public Parks
HORATIO’S GARDEN OSWESTRY (August 2017) The creation of one of Horatio’s Gardens, designed by award-winning garden designer Bunny Guinness, around the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital at Gobowen near Oswestry.
Community
HOLROYD COMMUNITY THEATRE near OSWESTRY (November 2017) The Bodfach Trust became a Patron of this new community theatre based at Moreton Hall School near Oswestry. It is being built in 2018-19 and will provide a much-needed community facility for North Shropshire and the Welsh borders.
BLIND VETERANS (October 2017) To ensure that nobody who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone.
