Grant application process
The Bodfach Trust is a family trust based in Montgomeryshire, Mid-Wales.
The trust makes grants to charities in Mid-Wales and the Welsh borders and is also often actively involved in their work. Recipient charities will be required to make an application
to the Trustees of the Trust via Simon Baynes, Bodfach Hall, Llanfyllin,
Powys, SY22 5HS, Wales, tel: 07880 786573 or trust@bodfach.com.
Applicants will need to provide details of their charity’s
objects, its financial position (supported by accounts), the sector
of the community which it benefits, the amount sought, and the
proposed activities or related facilities it intends to provide.
The Trustees will assess any application to ensure that any grant
would be within the Trust’s objects, whether the charity is in
financial need, the amount of benefit that would be derived from the
grant and any other factors the Trustees think important. As part of
this process, the Trustees may ask for further information and, if feasible,
one of the Trustees or the administrator will meet a representative
of the charity.
If the Trustees decide that a grant is appropriate, they will then
consider the amount and whether to require, for example, the recipient
charity to contribute part of the cost of the proposed activity. The
Trust is particularly keen to act as a catalyst via matched funding.
In general, our grants are less than £500. The trustees are
particularly keen to support smaller organisations. Please note that
if your application is for funding for musical entertainment, music
therapy or access to the arts for the elderly we suggest you visit
http://www.concertinamusic.org.uk and
download an application form.
If a grant is made, the Trustees will require feedback from the recipient
charity on how the funds have been applied and the number of people
who benefited from the grant and their reaction.
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR APPLICATION REACHES US BY 30 SEPTEMBER 2022.
THE TRUSTEES ARE SORRY BUT IN AN EFFORT TO REDUCE ADMIN COSTS NO EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE OR TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS WILL BE ENTERED INTO WITH REGARD TO THE APPLICATION. NO EMAIL APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE SEND HARD COPY APPLICATIONS IN THE POST TO THE LONDON ADDRESS.
