BODFACH HALL NGS GARDEN OPEN IN LLANFYLLIN RAISES £2,700
FOR CHARITY ON 28TH MAY 2018

The 2018 Garden Open was held on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May jointly with the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) and raised a record amount for charity of £2,700. From this total, £750 was donated to the Friends of St. Myllin’s Church in Llanfyllin and £375 to local charity Dolen Ffermio, with the remaining £1,500 going to the charities supported by the NGS including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie and Parkinson’s UK.

Since our last Garden Open in 2016 we have dredged and re-lined the small lake and discovered a secret well which was on show in May. As usual the rhododendrons and azaleas were in full flower. The courtyard and formal gardens are now reaching maturity and the statue garden has been reinvigorated by the recent re-planting of its iris beds. Topiary, specimen trees, shrubbery walks, the orchard and the Victorian dog kennels all provided plenty for visitors to see and enjoy.

Delicious homemade teas were served and live music was provided by Maldwyn Strings. There were charity stalls and an exhibition of art created in the Bodfach gardens by students at Llanfyllin High School.
